The Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Team Approach to Game Improvement

The “Team Approach” to game improvement is a hallmark of the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) approach.   In coordinating the best in golf instruction, fitness, and medicine, TPI has created both an infrastructure and philosophy that has changed golf performance enhancement in the 21stcentury. Below we’ll discuss how these elements fit together so that players can understand the importance of teamwork between these elements.

Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Golf Screening and the Developmental Hierarchies of the SFMA and FMS

The TPI Golf Screen is one of the most valuable tools in the toolbox for any golf, fitness, or medical professional who works with golfers.  Not only can the Screen help identify physical limitations that shape a player’s swing and contribute to painful movement, it facilitates communication between professionals in various fields of performance enhancement (instruction, fitness, and medical).  This team approach is at the core of the TPI game improvement philosophy.

An Afternoon on the Practice Tee at the Accenture Match Play

I had the opportunity to attend the Monday practice round at the Accenture Match Play Championship in Marana, Arizona (just outside Tucson).   Always a great learning experience to not only watch the best in the world honing their craft, but also to watch their interaction with their support staff of coaches, trainers, caddies, and equipment reps.  Here are a few videos from Monday afternoon on the practice tee.  Good to see lots of TPI representation both among players and support staff.

Titleist Performance Institute Level 2 Fitness recap: Part 1

I was fortunate this fall to attend the Titleist Performance Insititute Level II Fitness Certification, which required a trip across the country to Boston.  My journey to Boston was an ordeal unto itself involving separate rentals of a minivan and a Chevy Suburban for a two night stay...even though the conference was at an airport-based hotel!
