TPI Golf

Titleist Performance Institute philosophy of the golf swing: "We don’t believe there is one way to swing a club; we believe there are an infinite number of ways to swing a club. But we do believe that there is one efficient way for all golfers to swing a club and it is based on what they can do physically."

Pike Athletics is proud to bring the best in golf fitness coaching to Tucson with two Titleist Performance Institute Golf Fitness Instructors. Our role is to provide you with the physical conditioning tools to unlock your body's potential to swing the club most efficiently.  Patterning of efficient movements in the gym creates the foundation upon which you can build a dynamic golf swing.  Additionally, physical conditioning is an effective way to cultivate belief in oneself. Achievement in the gym helps build the confidence needed to excel on the golf course.

With junior golfers we emphasize overall athletic development because their bodies are constantly evolving.  To enjoy long term success, junior golfers must train as athletes.  Further, the lifestyle of the modern American youth lacks the high levels of physical activity found in previous generations.  Because most kids are lacking in overall lifetime activity hours, developing a sound athletic base is critical.

While golf is not an impact sport like football, injuries to the lower back, shoulder, hips, and wrists are quite common.  Few activities in the life of a golfer will place the same load of compressive forces on the spine as the golf swing.   Golfers must take a prophylactic approach to injuries by engaging in a physical conditioning program that addresses their fundamental movement patterns.
