An Interdisciplinary Approach to Asthma and Swimming

This week at Swimming Science we have a look at asthma and swimming.  Although asthma might seem outside the coach's realm at first glance, modern research has identified several links between asthma and the musculokseletalpyschological, environment, and neurological domains squarely within the coach's scope-of-practice.  Properly identifying and treating asthma can be a treacherous course that often evades the most aggressive of medical interventions.  As coaches there are many things we can do via breathing patterns, posture, psychology, and environment to help prevent this often frustrating condition and guide those battling through it.  Please go HERE for the complete post.
